Sabor Holidays to host online dance 'all day fundraiser' for NHS COVID-19 emergency appeal

Sabor holiday's traditionally consist of daily fitness and dance workshops for dancers of all levels, excursions and activities, beach games, social dancing, live music, silent discos and pool parties.

However, one of the key parts of a Sabor Holiday is a 'gala night' that raises vital funds for local charities.

Keoni said she thought it would be a massive shame that they wouldn't be raising any money because of the cancelled trip, so they have decided to hold a day long 'dance event' to raise money for the NHS COVID-19 urgent appeal instead.

Sabor are looking for people to get involved!

Invitees are invited to join via a Facebook livesteam with dedicated Sabor Holiday staff to take part in a day of live talk shows including interviews of a dance couple who are also NHS staff, a dance challenge, 360 Easter Egg Hunt, best dressed competition, games, dance animations and music.

Keoni Said: "I run a small tour operator that specialises in dance holidays and sadly due to the current circumstances, like many others, we have had to cancel our upcoming group holiday of 200 people at which we usually incorporate a gala night to fundraise for charity.

"So as not to lose out on raising money for a good cause a number of our teachers agreed, as we cannot physically be together, to support us in hosting an online, all day event to raise money for the NHS CODIV-19 urgent appeal on Saturday 25th April.

"We are very excited to announce the Sabor Online All-Dayer Fundraiser on Saturday 25th April!

"Our fantastic team of Sabor teachers have donated their time to teach live online workshops throughout the day.

"You will be given access to a private Facebook group where you can enjoy workshops of Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Reggaeton, On2, CUBAtone, Zumba and even Lindy Hop!

"We will also be hosting a live talk show discussing Sabor Holidays and what everyone has been up to during their quarantine time as well as live DJ sets and competitions!

The event will start at 10am and finish at around 9pm giving entrants a full day of entertainment and learning.

For all this Sabor are asking for a minimum donation of £10, all of which will go to the NHS COVID-(2019) Urgent Appeal.

Keoni continued: "We want to encourage anybody and everybody to join us online for a fun day. As well as raising money, we hope the event will inspire both dancers and non-dancers to get up, stay active and learn something new which they can continue when life returns to some normality."​

The event starts at 9:30 am with a welcome announcement and dance classes begin at 10:00 am

They will be running live dance classes and workshops on Facebook throughout the day, taught by Sabor team members from their own homes.There will be different styles and levels to choose from and each class is 45 minutes long.

Keoni continued:

"I hope people will enjoy the event because it will give them the chance to learn a new skill, stay connected and maybe even make some friends.

"Participants will have the chance to win prizes, as there will be competitions all designed to raise funds for this great cause."
