This hopeful rainbow image of a locked-down Aylesbury town centre was taken by Bucks Herald reporter Thomas Bamford.

Thomas, who lives in the town centre spotted the beautiful rainbow, which perfectly arches over the tops of the buildings.

The rainbow has most certainly been adopted during the coronavirus crisis as a symbol of hope, and as a way to say thank you to our NHS heroes and keyworkers, tackling the bug on the frontline.

Traditionally though, the rainbow is also part of the biblical story of Noah's Ark, when God sent a rainbow as a symbol of hope, and that the great flood would never happen again.

Religious or not, I'm sure that we all agree that this is a wonderful picture, and in this dark time a bit of hope is just the ticket.

Thank you Thomas!
