RAF Halton personnel form lining party for change of command at base

RAF Halton personnel formed a lining party for the departure of the outgoing Station Commander, Group Captain Katherine Wilson.

She left the Station to go to the Royal College of Defence Studies at Main Building.

Group Captain Katherine Wilson took command of RAF Halton in September 2018 following an assignment at Headquarters Air Command as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff A1.

She joined the RAF in 1997, completing Officer Training and Admin (Secretarial) professional training.

As a junior officer, she completed seven tours as well as an operational deployment to Afghanistan. She was promoted to Squadron Leader in 2008 and conducted three tours before promotion to Wing Commander and a further two before promotion to Group Captain in 2017.

In 2011 she was awarded an MBE for her role as OC Personnel Management Squadron at RAF Lyneham, and an OBE in 2016 for her role as OC Base Support Wing at RAF Odiham.
