A work in progress, the new Sainsbury's mega store coming to Aylesbury

Pictures show progress on site of Aylesbury's giant new Sainsbury's which is on course to be finished this year

Sainsbury's has confirmed it will start recruiting as early as August

Work has started on the roofing at the giant new Sainsbury's in Aylesbury, which is on track to be finished later this year.

The steel framing supporting the building has now been completed, whilst the flooring for the supermarket will be organised soon. Once a roof has been built, work will begin on glazing the building.

Later this week the concrete slab is being poured, which will make up the flooring for this new megastore.

At 50,000 square feet, the new site will include: Tu clothing and Habitat home products, as well as your typical groceries and goods.

The store will create 150 jobs across a range of roles and levels. Recruitment is set to begin in August and can be tracked from the Sainsbury's website.

A Sainsbury's spokesperson advises that: "Retail experience isn’t necessary as all training will be provided for successful applicants."

Sainsbury’s property director Patrick Dunne said: "We appreciate the support of the local community for our new and exciting store and look forward to opening in time for customers to do their Christmas shopping.”
