The girls and their families enjoyed an action-packed weekend which included cooking, street dance, laughing yoga and even award-winning author Matt Brown reading them part of a funny but slightly scary bedtime story. Young presenters from Bucks Scout Radio supported the weekend by live broadcasting throughout.

One of the popular activities was the reptile encounter where the children were introduced to Jabba, the African bullfrog, and his creepy crawly friends from the safety of their screens.

There were five activity themes, Be Active, Be Adventurous, Be Kind, Be Creative and Be inspired with the girls encouraged to do one thing from each to earn their event badge.

Reflecting on the weekend (in her own words) rainbow Rebecca aged six said: “I loved the hedgehog thing and the music and the cookies and sleeping in the tent"

Brownie leader and Event Lead Nicola Dolan from Aylesbury said: “All of the time spent planning the event has been worthwhile when you see all the photos of the girls and their families enjoying themselves. Views on our county Facebook page have been amazing and there has been lots of positive feedback from people remembering their own time in Girlguiding especially after the campfire session.”

One mum said: “My daughter has been in brownies for two years. She has had a brilliant time and has tried so many different activities this weekend. These have ranged from making a lava lamp to laughing yoga, cooking spaghetti carbonara to creating a cheeky unicorn and she really loved the science experiments.”
