Man arrested after car collides with lamppost in Tring

A man from Pitstone was arrested after his car collided with a lamppost in Tring on Friday.

PCSOs from Thames Valley Police spotted a vehicle driving erratically on the border of their patch and Hertfordshire Police's patch.

The vehicle came to a stop in Tring High Street and collided with a lamppost at around 5.30pm.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: "Herts officers attended and the driver failed a roadside breath test.

"A 39-year-old man from Pitstone was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol and with no insurance.

"He was also later arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs."

The 39-year-old has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
