Weston Turville Gold Club member Debbie Retallick played The Last Post, either side of a two minutes silence held at the event on Remembrance Sunday.

Each year the members at Weston Turville Golf Club hold a mixed pairs competition on Remembrance Sunday and donate the proceeds to the Royal British Legion.

As ever there was a very good turn out with this year’s winners on the day being Yvonne Black and Derek Richardson just pipping the pairing of Debbie Gibb and Fred Callejo courtesy of a better back nine.

Joining the Club Captains for the Men’s’ and Ladies sections Alan and Pauline Waite to present the prizes to the winners this year was Sergeant Mark Charity.

Mark, as well as being the competitions secretary for the golf club, has been in the RAF for 30 years and is now stationed at nearby IFPT RAF Halton, and completed tours of Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan.

This year the members raised a total of just under £380 for the Royal British Legion.
