With the event rapidly approaching, now is the last chance to sign up to join the hundreds who are already taking part in Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s Chilterns 2 Peaks Challenge on Sunday 13 September.

Specially adapted for 2020 to ensure safe social distancing, participants can choose either an 8 or 12 mile circular walk following part of the Ridgeway National Trail, and enjoy the beautiful late summer scenery in the Chilterns.

Both routes begin and end in Princes Risborough where plenty of car parking is available.

The 8 mile walk takes in the spectacular sights of Whiteleaf Cross before wending its way back to Princes Risborough, while the 12 mile route also includes the second ‘peak’ of Coombe Hill.

All participants are being given staggered start times to space people out on the walk and keep it safe for all.

Taking part in the Chilterns 2 Peaks Challenge costs just £15 per adult and £7.50 per child, with a family ticket (2 adults and up to 4 children) costing £40.

Tracey Hancock, Director of Fundraising at Rennie Grove said:

“We have been absolutely delighted with the interest that our newly adapted challenge has received. Local people have signed up in their hundreds to take part and we are so grateful to them for supporting our services for local people with life-limiting illness in this way.

"Some are walking in memory of loved ones and others are relishing the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery while raising money for a great cause.

“We have worked really hard to make sure that the walk is safe for everyone so if you’ve not signed up yet – there’s still time and we would love to see you.

"£28.50 pays for an hour of care from one of our hospice at home nurses and if everyone could raise at least this amount, we could fund hundreds of hours of care for our patients. What a rewarding way to spend a September Sunday!”
