Have your say on options for walking, cycling and wheeling route between Haddenham and Thame

Residents are being invited to have their say as part of a survey on future options for a walking, cycling and wheeling route between Haddenham and Thame.

Different route options are currently being assessed by Buckinghamshire Council and Oxfordshire County Council, who are jointly conducting the survey.

No preferred option has currently been selected by the authorities, who are keen that any route would connect with Haddenham & Thame Parkway railway station.

Initial route options are currently being shared for the public’s feedback, as part of a survey which is running until Tuesday November 24.

Buckinghamshire Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for transport Thomas Broom said: “We’re really pleased to be taking this next step in our work with Oxfordshire County Council, looking at the possibilities of a safer and more sustainable travel link between Haddenham and Thame, so that people can more easily choose walking, cycling or public transport.

“At this early stage it is really important for people to tell us what they think about the options and our assessment, so I encourage everyone to take part in the engagement.

“We know there’s been local interest in an active travel route for many years, and we hope that this engagement will provide us with some good feedback to understand the viability of the project going forward.”

During the consultation period, two drop-in events are being held with the first on Thursday November 5 between 3pm and 8pm in the Conference Room at Haddenham Village Hall.

A second drop-in event is being held on Saturday November 14 between 10am and 3pm in the Upper Chamber at Thame Town Hall.

After the engagement period closes, feedback and technical evidence is reviewed before the two county councils jointly take a decision on the next steps.

The survey is available to view through Oxfordshire County Council’s digital platform Let’s Talk Oxfordshire and is accessible until 11.59pm on November 24.
