Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) has pledged £8,142 to help support three local community projects which are crowdfunding on Our Vale: ‘Improving Stewkley Recreation Ground’ by Stewkley Parish Council; ‘Keep our Kids on Wheels’ by Marsh Gibbon Parish Council; and ‘Live broadcasting equipment’ by Red Kite Community Radio.

AVDC launched its £50,000 Our Vale fund to help support and fund local community projects in Aylesbury Vale.

Organisers say that the fund is 'designed to empower residents to play a greater role in shaping their communities; further AVDC's objectives to make places better; meet demonstrable community needs; and encourage strong community support and involvement.'

Maddy Orlando, from the ‘Keep our Kids on Wheels’ project, said: “AVDC’s pledge to our project has really enabled us to get the ball rolling, and we’re already over the half way mark!

"There’s still more crowdfunding needed for us to continue our popular weekly skateboard/ramp session for the children of the village, however without the support of AVDC, ours, and many other community projects, would just not be possible.”

Janette Eustace, from the ‘Improving Stewkley Recreation Ground’ project, said: “The crowdfunding support through Our Vale has been extraordinary. With support from the local community and AVDC’s pledge, we’ve now surpassed our target!”

Maryvonne Hassall, assistant director – digital delivery at AVDC, said: “It’s great to be able to support a range of fantastic local community projects with funding allocations from AVDC’s Our Vale fund.

"Our Vale has already seen great success for a number of local community projects and remains an innovative and inclusive way to help projects reach their crowdfunding target.”
