They both said the experience was inspirational and rewarding, despite the inclement weather on the night.

Nursery manager Lela White said: “We chose to do the midnight walk as the Florence house hospice is the charity we have chosen as a team to support and raise money for this year, being local to us and close to a lot of staff and our parents hearts a few having used the service for family members.

When tasked with operation during Coronavirus, Lela said that things were going well.

She said: "The nursery is getting on well under lockdown, the children took being in bubble groups in their stride and have been doing lots of fun group activities, the staff have attended bereavement training in preparation for supporting any children or parents who lose someone throughout this time."

Lela added that the children had been as good as gold adapting to the changes.

She added: "The experience of lockdown in nursery was less challenging than expected. The children have taken to the changes very smoothly with support from their key people and the team have been so happy to be back at work and are always really motivated to provide the best care and support for the children’s development."
