Boy critical after being hit by train at Mandeville crossing

A boy is in a critical condition after being hit by a train at the Mandeville crossing.

The boy was hit yesterday evening (Tuesday) close to Old Stoke Road, in what is currently thought to have been a tragic accident.

Ambulance, fire and police teams attended the scene.

A spokesman for British Transport Police, said: “We were called at 7.30pm yesterday following a report a boy had been struck by a train on a crossing off Old Stoke Road in Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire.

“Officers arrived on the scene and established a 14-year-old boy had been hit and was lying underneath one of the carriages with multiple injuries.

“Emergency crews worked to rescue the boy and he was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

“We are still working to determine the exact circumstances of what happened but at this stage, this appears to have been a tragic accident.

“The Office of Rail and Road has been informed of the incident.”
