A rare moment of calm was celebrated by the police, who have been having to disburse groups of young people at Edingburgh Playing Fields Park in Churchill Avenue regularly.

Officers put out an exasperated tweet today, saying that while the clear scene was welcome, it is nothing like what they have been seeing and they hope that it is not short lived.

The force also encourages anyone who see another member of the public breaking lockdown rules to report it using the link HERE The tweet read: "2pm today the Edinburgh Playing Fields were free of teens and young adults.

"We appreciate this may be short lived but wanted to share with you this moment."
