Aylesbury Garden Town Sets Up Network of Community Gardeners to Help Deal with the Coronavirus Crisis
The project, ‘Let’s Get Growing’, calls on anyone who’s already growing their own produce, or who wants to get started, to join the group ‘Aylesbury Garden Town’s Let’s Get Growing’, which can be found on Facebook by clicking here.

Hide AdCampaign, they’re finding it’s extremely rewarding to eat food that they’ve grown themselves – and nurturing seeds and being outdoors is also great for mental health too.
This week is the Royal Horticultural Society’s National Gardening Week so it’s a good time to get going. Anyone who doesn’t have outdoor space can also join in, as there are many plants that can be grown in pots, indoors.
Working in partnership with Community GROW, the aim is for Aylesbury Garden Town’s Let’s Get Growing’ group to connect up the network of gardeners, so everyone can share tips. For
those who are just starting, there will be links to useful videos and information. And for more established growers, such as Aylesbury’s keen allotmenteers, there’s an opportunity to encourage others with advice and insight, as well as the chance to share any excess produce they may have with residents in the town.

Aylesbury will get involved in the Let’s Get Growing community network.
"Staying healthy is a top priority at the moment and nutritious food makes a big difference to our wellbeing. It’s also very satisfying to eat something delicious that you’ve grown yourself and it doesn’t have to be a huge quantity, something simple like a tomato plant is a great place to start.”
