A family who like the rest of us are currently staying at home came up with a novel way to recreate their cancelled holiday to the Christian festival Spring Harvest this Easter weekend.

James Dell, from Aylesbury and his wife and daughter always try to go to Spring Harvest at either Minehead or Skegness. But for a few years because of their business they have not been able to go as a family.

But their plans of anyone attending at all were thwarted even further when, like many events around the country Spring Harvest has been cancelled due to the impact of Coronavirus and the need for physical distancing.

Unlike other events Spring Harvest did stream some elements online, which lead to James coming up with the idea for his family to all move into the caravan to get the full festival experience.

He said: "We find it really hard to attend Spring Harvest and usually miss out or have to go separately.

"Our business (Alpaca Experiences) is always busy at the weekends so at least two of us have to stay at home.

"We were really excited to hear that Spring Harvest is coming to our home. For the first time in years we can all attend together.

"To make it feel more like being away we thought it would be fun if we stayed in our caravan on the lawn outside our house and use rooms in the house for the study groups."

If you would like to join in like the Dells did you can find out more on the festival's YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/SpringHarvest Charlie Price, head of marketing and communications for the Essential Christian Group which runs the festival, said, “There has never been a more important time for people to still gather as a community to worship, learn, laugh and pray together and we were so excited to see James’ suggestion of continuing to make Spring Harvest a fun festival event for their family by caravanning on their driveway, we love this idea!"
