PCSOs go back to school to give valuable lesson on crime prevention
The Berkhamsted and Tring Safer Neighbourhood Team visited the school last week to register students’ valuables on the online property register Immobilise.com and to raise awareness of the importance of looking after costly devices such as mobile phones.
During the lunchtime session, 56 students took up the opportunity to have their valuables – including smartphones, tablets and iPods – registered online and learn about protecting other items from theft.

Hide AdPCSO Nigel Waldron said: “We were inundated by students who were keen to learn how to keep their valuables safe and take up the opportunity to get them registered.
“Now, if their property is ever lost or stolen and recovered by police, we will be able to reunite the item with their rightful owner.
“There were so many students who we didn’t manage to speak to on the day who were keen to get registered, so we’ll be returning to the school in the near future to do it again.”
The project forms part of a wider police initiative to ensure more people register their valuables and get essential crime prevention advice.
Anyone can register a range of items from bikes to jewellery, as well as a host of technological devices, by visiting www.immobilise.com.
