Town centre hosts farmers
The Winslow Christmas Prime Stock Show brought hundreds of country and towns folk together as they all enjoyed the spectacle of seeing the animals judged and sold.
Shoppers remarked that it was a great social occasion, and traders were happy to benefit from the extra customers in town.

I’ve been told about the cattle market that used to be in Aylesbury, and I think it would be great to get it back, even if it was just once a year like this one in Winslow.
“Just to bring it back to show people where their meat comes from and to help them understand that all these tractors on the road are doing a worthwhile job.”
The Winslow show committee worked for hours the evening before the auction to set pens up in the market square, and were back at the crack of dawn on the day of the sale to unload, weigh and pen the animals.
