FARMING MATTERS: A day out in the capitalfor winner of farm award

Mrs Morris went to the ceremony with her colleague Debbie Berrell after being nominated in the Farm School Partnership category and was delighted when she got there to find she had won.

Mrs Morris runs The Lodge at College Farm, Long Crendon and regularly hosts school visits from pupils who attend the primary school in the village

She said: “Pupils from each class come at least once during the school year, and sometimes more. They learn about the farm, food, nature and cooking.”

Mrs Morris said she thoroughly enjoyed her day in the city.

She said: “We had a cracking day, it was brilliant. There was a lovely champagne reception and a three course lunch. We were spoilt, it was very special.”

Mrs Morris was presented with a framed certificate and a plaque with a painted picture of her Lodge on it, by BBC Countryfile presenter Tom Heap.

Mrs Morris said: “I felt very proud, it is wonderful to have your hard work recognised by your peers, and it has inspired us to carry on with what we are doing and to expand it.”
