FARMING MATTERS: Daisy brings in the funds
Each of the Bucks clubs takes a turn at hosting the annual event, and as it is such a big show it needs to be worked on a long time ahead.
One of the things the Buckingham club is using to help raise funds is a wooden cow.

‘Daisy’ is a black and white Holstein made from wood and hinged so that she can be folded flat for transportation.
Buckingham club co-chairman 22-year-old Kate Dugher, who lives in Lenborough and who is currently a veterinary student at the University of Nottingham said: “We’ve had her a few years. She’s kept at the home of a local farmer in Lenborough, whose family made her. The daughter does a lot of art and the dad cut it out.
“We took Daisy to Buckingham Beer Festival at the rugby club and held a milking competition using Daisy and a simulated udder.
“We did a competition to see who could milk the most in 30 seconds. We used water rather than real milk.

“Our junior winner collected 640ml and our over 18 winner, a member of the rugby club, milked a huge 1,025ml.”
Kate said a number of Buckingham members will be attending Bucks County Show to help out on the county YFC stand, and they hope to take Daisy along if possible.
