A Buckingham man charged with the sexual assault of an underage girl appeared at the Old Bailey again this week.
Jerome Joe, of Pightle Crescent, has pleaded not guilty to a single charge, of engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.
The court had previously heard that Joe says the charges are a case of mistaken identity.
But the prosecution is using evidence that the alleged victim, known as Woman A to protect her identity, had his number on her mobile phone.
However, on Monday prosecutor Oliver Saxby asked Woman A about the circumstances surrounding her getting the phone number.
Woman A, who is now 21, said that she had only had the number for a couple of months when she gave it to police in 2014.
She said that she got it after Joe pulled up alongside her in a taxi, while she was walking to her father’s house.
Woman A said that Joe wouldn’t go away until she had taken down his number, and that she believed him to be ‘Bling’. The man she has since accused of the crimes.
She said: “That was the last time I saw him, he did contact me a couple of times, but I didn’t answer my phone because I wasn’t interested.”
Joe claims, that there is another man that looks like him.
The other men appearing alongside Joe are:
Vikram Singh, 45, of Cannock Road Aylesbury
Asif Hussain, 32, of Rossal Place, Milton Keynes
Harmohan Nangpal, 40, of Langdale Drive, Hayes
Mohammed Imran, 37, of Springcliffe Street, Bradford
