New farm shop targets David Cameron's custom

A new farm shop is opening on the Chequers estate '“ and its owners are hoping to make Prime Minister David Cameron a regular customer.

Buckmoorend Farm Shop will open on Wednesday March 23 in time for Easter weekend.

Located on the Ridgeway path near the PM’s countryside retreat at Butlers Cross, the shop will specialise in quality beef, lamb and pork .

It will sell local produce too including sweet and savoury biscuits from Just Biscuits in Stoke Mandeville, salami and chorizo from The Merry Pig in Wendover, sausage rolls plus scotch eggs from Kirsty’s Kitchen of Long Crendon, healthy breakfast cereals from Chiltern Natural Foods and fresh organic veg from Sandy Lane Farm near Thame.

The pair behind the shop, Steph and Daniel Hares, hope that David and Samantha Cameron will be popping in.

“He seems to have a genuine interest in the agricultural industry, and takes notice of what we do here,” said third generation farmer Daniel.

“Animal welfare, food miles and non-intensive farming methods are vitally important to all of us and we want to share our values and the quality of our produce with a wider audience.”
