The two men then drove around for a short while and then the victim stopped the car and escaped.

His passenger then made off empty-handed.

One of the offenders is described as medium build, 5ft 8ins with short brown hair.

Speaking on Saturday, Det Sgt Tracey Benham of Aylesbury police station said: “At this stage we do not believe this was a random attack. Information from the victim suggests that the offenders knew who he was.

“It was fortunate he was uninjured during the incident.

“At this stage we are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and so would ask that anyone who was in the area last night and saw a dark coloured hatchback parked or saw the victim’s car, a W-reg silver Toyota Previa, to contact us as a matter of urgency.”
