Aylesbury MP David Lidington said it was ‘a tough decision’ choosing which design to include on the front cover of the Christmas card he sends out.

Mr Lidington ran a competition in which he invited schoolchildren to submit designs based on the theme of Christmas stories.

The winning design was done by Zuzana Slavikova, a Year Six pupil at Thomas Hickman School in Aylesbury.

It was selected by a three-strong panel of Mr Lidington, the vicar of Holy Trinity Church in Walton Street Andrew Blyth and managing director of Mix 96 Max Hailey.

Mr Lidington said: “It was very pleasing to see the effort the children put in to their designs.

“I decided to run this competition because I know a lot of other MPs who have and I thought it would be different to the usual House of Commons design.”
