Motorcyclist dies after crash on A422 near Buckingham

A motorcyclist has died after a crash on the A422 just outside Buckingham on Saturday afternoon.

The motorcycle was in collision with a black Skoda Octavia, driven by a man from Aylesbury, who was treated for shock at the scene.

The accident happened on the A422 Brackley Road at 5.10pm and resulted in the death of the rider of a red/silver Aprilia motorcycle travelling towards Buckingham, a 31-year-old man from Milton Keynes, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Skoda Octavia, a 62-year-old man from Aylesbury, was treated for shock.

Two other motorbikes, a white/black MV Augusta F4 and a red Suzuki GSF believed to be in convoy with the Aprilia were also involved with one rider receiving treatment for minor injuries and the other for shock.

Sgt Daniel Collett, who is leading the investigation said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances which led to this collision and to the sad death of the motorcyclist.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision, who has not yet contacted police.”
