A man proposed to his girlfriend in front of hundreds of people up on stage at Hobble on the Cobbles.
Gareth Foster romantically got down on one knee to ask Gemma Moreton if she would marry him and when she replied yes the crowd roared their approval.
Gareth, who is studying at Bucks New University and lives at The Coppice, had arranged with compere Dez Kay to propose to Gemma onstage on Sunday.
So toward the end of the night prior to headline act Toploader playing, Gareth got up onto the Showcase Stage in Market Square with Dez who then asked if Gemma was in the crowd and invited her to join them on stage.
Gemma, who lives in Southcourt and is a full time mother to her two children, made her way to the stage and when she arrived Gareth dropped to his knee and handed her a sapphire ring.
She accepted straight away.
Before the big moment Gareth told the Herald: “We’ve been together five months and I think she will say yes but I am still a bit nervous. I have known her a long time, quite a few years.”
