Mandeville students take part in Autism Week

Staff and students at The Mandeville School raised more than £900 by taking part in Autism Awareness Week.

This is the first time the school has organised this event Assemblies and tutor time activities focused on autism awareness, and staff and students came to school dressed in their onesies, PJs, mufti or Autism Awareness Day tee-shirts for a big fundraising day, ready to participate in a whole host of fun activities including a cake sale, hook-a-duck, toy car racing and a raffle.

A portion of the money raised will go to the Sport Relief charity.

The events were organised by teacher Tanya Anderson.

Headteacher Andria Hanham, said: “ It was excellent in all respects and staff and students really got a lot out of it.”

“We will do it again next year!”
