Man jailed after 279 cannabis plants discovered

A man has been jailed for 20 months for producing cannabis and illegally abstracting electricity from the grid used to grow the plants.

Ismen Muja, 22, of Bedgrove, Aylesbury, was charged with the offence on April 7 pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday.

Investigating officer, PC Samantha Stansbie, said: “When police arrived at the property there was a strong smell of cannabis.

“Two-hundred-and-seventy-nine plants were seized which were growing throughout the house.

“This case sends a strong message to those responsible and involved in drug production that they will be caught and prosecuted.

“I would like to thank the local community for their help in this case.”
