King Crimson are coming back to the Waterside, this newspaper can exclusively reveal.
Following the huge success of the band’s two dates in August, which were organised by Friars Aylesbury, they will return in September 2016.
But fans had better be quick, because the shows are the only two that the band will play in the whole of 2016.
The August dates were the first proper shows that the band had played since the 1980s, and they chose to start their European tour at Friars.
Festivities at the Waterside started with an exclusive warm-up show before the two night residency.
Friends and family turned out to see the band, including Kate Bush who made a surprise appearance.
Friars promoter David Stopps, said: “The shows in August were among the best that Friars has ever presented in its long 46 year history.
“Even people who were not familiar with the band were blown away with their sheer musical brilliance.”
Tickets for the shows which are on September 5 and 6 go on sale on December 5 at 10am. A maximum of four per person are allowed, in a bid to give as many local people as possible the opportunity to see the band.
Anyone wanting to get their hands on tickets can call the box office on 08448717607. Tickets will go online at 4pm on the same day at www.atgtickets.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk
