Halloween is almost upon us - time to get your pumpkins carved, your spooky outfit organised and plenty of spiders webs clinging to the walls!
If you enjoy having lots of ghoulish fun at Halloween, want to enter pumpkin and fancy dress competitions and fancy learning how to do Michael Jackson’s Thriller routine, read on for events in Aylesbury, Princes Risborough and Waddesdon.
From 3 - 6.30pm tomorrow (Thursday) there will be free activities in Aylesbury Market Square for little monsters, aliens, ghosts, wizards, witches and children.
Popular Panto-ween will be filled with gags about “he’s behind you” and “oh no it isn’t” jokes. And there will be chilling magic from magician Simon Says, as well as creative and imaginative pumpkin carving demonstrations from artist Tim O’Sullivan.
And if dancing is your thing, there will be a chance to join the Spotlight Musical Theatre group who will be teaching and performing MJ’s classic spooky Thriller dance.
There will be a chance to create Halloween themed crafts to create and take home, games and activities to take part in and an amazing face painter to get you ready for the weekend trick or treats. All for free.
Prizes are in store for the best Halloween fancy dress costume and carved pumpkin, to be judged by the Mayor of Aylesbury at 5pm. So dust off your broomstick and fly along to the Market Square to let the Halloween hilarity begin.
In Princes Risborough there’s a Halloween bonfire and fireworks party on the senior school playing fields from 5.30pm on Saturday (October 31).
Organised by Princes Risborough Rotary, the gates will open at 5.30pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks will explode from 7pm.The event includes a Halloween fancy dress parade for under 12s, and there will be a fun fair , music, food and a licensed bar.
Car parking at the school in Clifford Road (HP27 0DU) will cost £2 per car.Tickets for the spooky fun cost £12 in advance (£15 on the gate) for a family with two adults and a maximum of three children; £4 adult in advance, £5 on the gate; under 12s £3 in advance, £4 on the gate.
Advance tickets are available from Princes Risborough Information centre now located in the library, Special Days in the High Street, Iain Rennie shop in Market Square, Daisy Chain in the High Street and at Longwick post office.
There’s a pumpkin party in the Summer House at Waddesdon from 10am - 3pm on Friday (October 30) and Saturday (October 31). Join trainee spell casters Winnie the Witch and Warwick the Wizard as they practice their art, 50p a go. At the same time in The Stables there will be art and craft activities, £2 a child. Normal admission charges apply..
