An inspirational woman who was born with life-limiting cystic fibrosis has lost her fight against the illness.
Emily Icke, who lived in Buckingham Park, Aylesbury, with her husband David passed away last night (Thursday).
Writing on the Everything Aston Clinton and Everything Tring Facebook pages Emily’s father-in-law Simon Icke wrote: “No-one could have shown so much courage in fighting for life against all the odds.
“Emily was truly a very courageous young woman who was an inspiration to many raising awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and causing many people to sign the organ donor register.
“I am very proud of my son David who stood by her and loved her so much.”
Emily underwent a life-saving operation in December 2013 to give her a new pair of lungs.
A surprise party was held for Emily in December last year to mark a year since the operation.
