Increasing number of dog attacks on horses

Horse riders have been warned to be aware of an increasing number of dog attacks recently.

PC Kevin Simmons, of Thames Valley Police’s mounted section, said: “I would like horse riders to be aware of what to do if they are involved in such an incident while out riding and to highlight the relevant legislation which has been put in place to deal with such incidents.

“This is also relevant to dog owners who may walk their dogs in areas where they could encounter horses.
