Shocking pictures reveal the true extent of the damage to Wendover's Village Gate pub, which burned down in the early hours on Monday morning.

Cherished Wendover pub The Village Gate was burned to the ground last Monday in what the fire services are calling an ‘unexplained blaze’.

It took a marathon effort from 40 fire officers from across Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire, who were dispatched to the scene, but could do little to save what was left of the pub.

Fortunately for all involved, everyone has been accounted for and nobody has been declared missing. 'Due to the severity of the blaze, fire crews from Tring, Gerrards Cross, High Wycomobe, Bletchley, Wheatley and Maidenhead were all called into action to tackle the blaze.
