A discount homeware store which is the sister shop of TK Maxx is to open in Aylesbury, creating 50 new jobs, it has been announced.

HomeSense will open in the empty unit last occupied by Poundland at Aylesbury Shopping Park, already home to the likes of Argos, Curry’s and Wickes, on Thursday, September 24.

A statement from TJX Europe, which also runs fashion store TK Maxx, said: “Offering savings of up to 60% on branded and quality homeware and gifts, the new store will hold up to 50,000 different items for every room of the home – including kitchen and gourmet cookware, furniture and lighting, decorative items, wall art, bedding and bathroom accessories, gifts and seasonal décor.

“Frequent deliveries to store will ensure thousands of new items each week, so customers will always be able to discover something unique, every time they visit.

“If you love what TK Maxx does for fashion, you’ll adore HomeSense.”

A ‘curiosity cabinet’ will also be in-store on opening day, giving shoppers who spend over £30, the chance to win a HomeSense ‘treasure’ of their choice.

A spokesperson for HomeSense said: “We are delighted to be opening our first store in Aylesbury, which will be our 37th in the UK.
