He's back! Paddy reunited with his family after search

A stolen terrier who sparked a huge internet campaign has finally been reunited with his family.

Linda Reynolds and her husband Simon appealed on social media after cain terrier Paddy was taken from their home in Berryfields.

The move attracted unprecedented support on Facebook, with 110,000 people sharing the original post in a bid to find the one year old pet.

This newspaper and other media outlets also reported on the hunt, appealing for people to keep an eye out.

And this week, the couple got the call they had been waiting for.

Paddy, who was taken after curiously popping out of the dog flap into the path of the thieves, was found in Manchester and thanks to details on his microchip was reunited with his family.

Linda said: “We got a phone call to say that he had been found in Manchester.

“He is thin and has had a bad haircut to disguise him but otherwise he is okay.

“Thank you to everyone that shared the search, it was overwhelming how much support we have had.

“We are so happy to have him home, and have no idea how he ended up in Manchester, we drove all the way there to pick him up, and the kind people that found him waited until midnight for us.”
