Heartfelt charity music show in memory of Keith

Mitre pub landlord and classically trained musician Keith Templeman loved nothing more than an after-hours musical jam with his friends.

And following his sad death last year, those same friends have gathered together to remember Keith, at a unique event at Stowe School this weekend.

On Saturday night Buckingham Chamber Orchestra and Peter Edwards of the Red Bullets will perform in a special ‘Concert For Keith’ at Roxburgh Hall to raise money for charity and remember their friend.

Edwards Surfacing co-director Peter, who as part of local pop-rock outfit the Red Bullets has perfomed in Dubai and has had music played by Radio 2, said: “Keith was classically trained out of Kings College. He spent most of his working life in the automotive industry but was always involved with orchestras and music.

“This event seemed like the obvious thing to do, because one of the last conversations we had was about putting on a show together for a second time.

“We became quite well known in the pub for getting on the piano and cello in The Mitre to have a good old sing song.”

He added: “The concert is an opportunity to celebrate Keith’s music, through three of his own pieces for the Chamber Orchestra, the contribution that Keith made to my musical career as an ever present influence and support, and Keith as a fixture of Buckingham as a community through his ownership and enhancement of one of Buckingham and Buckinghamshire’s best pubs.”

The concert will be attended by Keith wife Jane, as well as his children James, David and Sarah and starts at 7.30pm. There will be a cash only bar at the event. For tickets call Stowe on 01280 825710
