Hayliners 30th reunion is set to be the last

A 30th reunion is being planned for former workers at the New Holland agricultural manufacturers in Aylesbury area, which closed its factory in 1982, and finally left the town in 1987.

Every year since then the Hayliners, named after its famous hay baler, have met up on Palm Sunday to celebrate.

Although the formation involved employees still at the plant at closure, many earlier employees have joined us over the years.

Hayliners committee member Alan Drake said: “We are about to celebrate the 30th meeting on Sunday, March 20 and have sadly concluded that, with the attrition of reducing numbers, this will be our last formal gathering.

“We would like to hear from anyone, with New Holland in their past, whether or not they have come before, to make this a really special occasion by joining us at the Foxhills Bowls Club.”
