Banners put up by Hampden Fields campaigners have been removed by the county council on health and safety grounds.
Council officers took down the banners put up by the Hampden Fields Action Group, which were on display in Cambourne Avenue close to the junction.
They said the posters were a distraction to drivers.
The campaign group’s chairman Chris Webbley reacted diplomatically to the news.
He said: “I’m relaxed about it.
“I don’t think there’s any skulduggery going on.
“We asked for permission to put the banners up as part of our engagement strategy and we felt that it was entirely right to do that.
“I’m sure that the officers from Bucks County Council thought they were doing the right thing.”
