A five-uear-old girl from Aylesbury managed to walk almost 27,000 steps - around nine miles - in a fundraiser to help disadvantaged children.

Eva Slade, a pupil at Broughton Infant School, joined walkers at Virginia Water lake and has so far raised £250.

Her dad Jonathan gave her the idea to fundraise as his company, Space Station Self Storage of Slough, organised the event in aid of The Variety Children’s Charity, where they plan to raise at least £20,000 for a Sunshine Bus.

Eva completed the walk with her dad and his colleagues.

Jonathan added: “She did this completely unaided and at times she was running! Everyone is really proud of her for doing this and we would really love to raise some more money so Eva gets a real sense of achievement which we hope will inspire her to do more fundraising events in the future. We set her a target initially of £100 but we would really love for her to raise £1,000.”
