The graduates of the nursery in Wendover Road were presented with certificates, cheered on by parents.

Manager, Rachel Gooden, said the graduation party is always held after children have left giving staff the chance to catch up with families and find out how they are doing.

She added: “Saying goodbye to children we look after is one of the hardest things we have to do but knowing we have played a part in their early years journey and set them on the right path is very rewarding.”

One of the ‘stars of the show’ was five year-old Chloe, described as a creative, outgoing, independent and helpful little girl.

Emma Hill, deputy manager. said: “Chloe is an absolute joy to have around so I know she will do very well at school. We are all excited for her because we know she is ready for this next step in her learning journey, but we will miss her dreadfully.”

For parents, too, the farewells were emotional as, for some the graduation of their youngest child meant the end of an era.

Rachel added: “While we keep in touch with the progress of our children in their schools we lose that close bond and regular contact with the parents who have been wonderfully supportive in helping us ensure each and every child gets the very most from their nursery experience. We will really miss them.”
