Two giant candlesticks made of glass bottles have been installed on the north front of Waddesdon Manor.
The artwork, commissioned by the Rothschild Foundation and Lord Rothschild, has set tongues wagging as the seven metre tall structures have completely transformed the historic view of the stately home.
The candlesticks, created by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos, have been set on a steel armature and lit from within by fibre optic strands.
They have been crafted using 1,000 glass bottles and are said to symbolise the Rothschild family’s connection to the world of wine.
The artwork has been granted planning permission which will last for five years.
