The demonstrations ran alongside an ongoing exhibition of the WI which runs at the museum until next month.

Vice-chair of the Bucks Federation of Women’s Institutes Pat Poole said: “It was a brilliant day and we had a lot of people there.

“Everyone who demonstrated was pleased with the attendance and they enjoyed the chance to show their crafts and skills.”

The crafts on display were appliqué, beading, cross-stitching, card-making, decoupage, drawing, knitting, lacemaking, parchment, patchwork, spinning and dyeing.

The event was free and was attended by both children and adults. Pictured above is Mavis Allen teaching 11-year-old Kathleen Edmonds how to knit.
