The three women, Jordana Greenberg, Rebecca Reed-Lunn and Maria Di Meglio, began touring nationally and internationally as Harpeth Rising in 2010 with performances that have included Cambridge Folk Festival, Fylde Folk Festival, Purbeck, Frome and Kerrville festivals, Blissfest and Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour.

Their virtuosic instrumentals of banjo and violin mixed with cello and foot percussion create an exciting and unique blend of musical genres that include folk, rock, bluegrass and roots music.

Their original lyrics, conveyed through powerful three-part vocals, manage to be gritty and poignant at the same time for the gig .

The trio recently located to Louisville, Kentucky to be closer to their southern roots and to join the growing eclectic musical and cultural landscape of the region.

After an impressive five albums in five years, Harpeth Rising’s latest album Shifted was released at the end of the summer.

The album has been well received with reviews calling it ‘truly resplendent’ and ‘taking Newgrass to the next dimension, taking back lyric writing as a form’.
