Contractors for Barratt & David Wilson Homes, of the 2,500-home Kingsbrook development to the east of Aylesbury, will be completing drainage works, surfacing the junction's slip road, and reinstating footways and verges.

The work, in liaison with Buckinghamshire Council, will allow the junction to be used for access to the Kingsbrook's new Orchard Green 'village'.

When fully open the Eastern Link Road will allow A418 traffic to get to and from the town centre via the Stocklake link roads, and a date for this has yet to be set.

While junction work progresses, the A418 will remain open, with lane closures and temporary traffic lights guiding traffic through the construction works. However, normal traffic flow will be a little slower than usual.

A joint statement from Barratt & David Wilson and Buckinghamshire Council said: "These works during the school holiday, when traffic is lighter, are the last of the junction construction. We're grateful for the patience of motorists and residents during construction, and aim to keep disruption to a minimum, but we do apologise in advance for any inconvenience."

During this period, access for visitors from the A418 to the developers' sales office on the link road will remain as a left turn in and out only. Right turns will be prohibited and construction vehicles will not be allowed to use the junction.
