Tours of the stately home Wotton House will be among attractions during a summer fete.
The venue is the private stately home at Wotton Underwood, a location that featured on an Alan Titchmarsh programme about the famous landscaper Capability Brown a few months ago, with the TV presenter waxing lyrical about the beauty of the place.
The village fete on Saturday, June 4, at 2pm, provides an opportunity to explore this hidden gem during an afternoon with many attractions.
There are beautiful lakeland walks as well as the opportunity to tour the house itself, for an additional fee.
Visitors can enjoy the many attractions of a very traditional fete, including a flower festival, brass band, animal corner. teas and cakes, barbecue, beer tent, plant stall bric-a-brac and children’s games.
The flower festival in the church has the theme 90 Glorious Years and a grand raffle will offer first prize of £500.
The fete will also feature a fun dog show, tombola, brass band music, an animal corner and the chance to enjoy the beautiful location with wonderful lake walks. Dogs must be on lead.
The fete is all in aid of urgent church repairs.
