Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service will be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week next in March with a two-day event at Aylesbury Fire Station.
The organisation currently has 25 apprentices working in firefighting roles throughout Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes and in support staff roles at headquarters in Aylesbury.
These familiarisation days are a great opportunity for anyone interested in a career within the fire and rescue service to come and see if we have a vocation that is right for you.
Apprenticeships are offered in the following sectors:
-Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
=Health and Safety
The familiarisation days aim to give individuals an overview of the various apprenticeships on offer and answer any questions you may have. You will be able to meet current in-post apprentices and discuss their experiences within the service.
Budding firefighters can come and observe a drill, talk to the crews, ask questions and ultimately, get hands on with the equipment. There will also be an opportunity to try some of the role related tests yourself. Following the practical element Bucks & MK fire will hold a Q&A session to answer any questions you may have regarding the apprenticeship scheme as a whole.
Sessions times and dates are as follows:
