E-fit released after elderly woman victim of distraction burglary
Police have released an e-fit of a man they believe was involved in a distraction burglary in Longwick.
At around 8.15pm on May 4 in Thame Road, a man managed to gain entry to the home of an elderly woman, by saying he worked for the water board.
Whilst he kept her busy an unknown number of people climbed in through the front bay window and searched the house for items to steal.
The victim’s handbag which contained money was taken.
Due to the rural location police think the offenders may have had a car parked nearby.
The man who distracted the victim is mixed race, of light complexion and aged 25-30 years-old. He is around 5ft 8ins tall, and was wearing a grey plain woolen hat, soft leather gloves and a jacket.He was clean shaven.
Investigating Officer, Det Con Chris Hatton of Force CiD based at High Wycombe police station; said “We are certain that this man was not working alone so if anyone saw a group acting suspiciously, or may have seen people getting into or out of a car on the evening of the 4 May on the Thame Road near Longwick, then please do call us on 101.”
