Dutch motorcyclist dies after crash on A421

A motorcylist from the Netherlands has died after a crash on the A421 in north Bucks yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

His blue Kawasaki bike collided with a red BMW motorcycle on the A421 between Buckingham and Milton Keynes at about 2.30pm.

The rider of the Kawasaki, who was aged 49, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, but died of his injuries.

The rider of the BMW, a 41-year-old man was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Coventry.

He sustained serious injuries but is in a stable condition.

PC Rob Lyne of the Roads Policing Unit said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a group of six or seven motorcyclists travelling along the A421 from Buckingham to Milton Keynes at about 2.20pm yesterday, particularly foreign registered motorcycles.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who may have been travelling from Milton Keynes to Buckingham and saw a red BMW motorcycle travelling alone.

“If you have any information please contact the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.

“The road was closed for several hours whilst a Forensic Collision Investigator examined the scene.

“Officers from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing have been working closely with Interpol in the Netherlands and as a result of this cooperation the next of kin of the Kawasaki rider have been notified.

“The A422 and the A421 between Buckingham and Milton Keynes have been closed three times after road traffic collisions during the weekend.
