District council’s legal services to be provided by Harrow authority

As outlined in a report, the cost of legal services has been slashed from £742,000 to £600,000 since 2013.
But the recommendation to delegate services to a third party will help ‘address budget pressures’.

Harrow Council’s shared legal service, HB Public Law, will provide all legal services from September 1 if the council gives it the green light.
HB Public Law is already providing interim provision for AVDC so the transition to full provision should be ‘straightforward’.
A decision on legal services will be made at the district council’s cabinet meeting on July 14.
