The 69-year-old was handed a suspended sentence in September last year, after being found guilty of one count of indecent assault. He was sentenced to three months in prison suspended for two years.
In February last year he was cleared of twelve counts of indecent assault, and a retrial was announced when the jury were unable to reach verdicts on two further counts of indecent assault, and one of sexual assault.
The incident for which Mr Travis was convicted of took place behind the scenes of the Mrs Merton Show in the 1990s, and comedian Dave Gorman (then a writer on the show) appeared as a witness for the prosecution.
The Daily Mail reported that Mr Travis spent in the region of £350,000 defending both trials, and has not worked since he was first arrested.
