Dr Nigel Carter OBE, Chief Executive of the British Dental Health Foundation commented: “Although mouth cancers are more common in people over 40 - particularly men -

research has shown that the disease is becoming more common in younger patients and

in women. Nearly 7,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with mouth cancer every year –

an increase of more than a third compared to a decade ago. Sadly, more than 2,000 people in the UK lose their life to mouth cancer every year and many of these deaths could be prevented if the cancer was caught early enough. That’s why we are extremely grateful that denta-care is offering free mouth cancer checks this November.”
